[Pivot table][Front-end]pivot table conditional formatting additional features [ID-39]

[Pivot table][Front-end]pivot table conditional formatting additional features

I think that the heatmap/conditional formatting feature in pivot tables is super useful, but its range settings aren’t dynamic enough to be applicable for a lot of self-serve situations (e.g. we build the sheet and they filter the dates, regions etc. as needed). It would be great to:

* Have dynamically selected upper and lower bounds and center (with the ability to set the range to the entire chart, the row, or the column, ideally). An example would be lower bound = min, center = mean, upper bound = max. Another example would be settings based on percentiles, like lower bound = 10th percentile, center = median, max = 90th percentile. Using percentiles rather than min/mean/max for the boundaries can help with conditional formatting that is robust to outliers in the dataset.

* Have a 2-3 color palette that could be applied to the conditional formatting, rather than a particular color. Examples might be red-green, red-blue (to avoid Xmas theme!), red-yellow-green… I think that I can technically do this right now by adding multiple color rules at different cutoffs, but it would be very handy to have a spectrum that we could apply to the entire range of values, particularly when the bounds are set based on calculations.

  • Allow conditional formatting by column instead of over the entire table

Currently if you're changing the conditional formatting for a table, the user is currently limit to just red, yellow and green. Expand this option to include custom colors ex RGB

Heat mapping for table chart

Merged
Users are looking for the ability to apply heat mapping to visualizations, which should assign colors to show inline and outlier data. This feature is currently unavailable and conditional formatting doesn't achieve the desired results.
