What is the problem or goal the end user is trying to solve or accomplish?
When a user switches chart types they are required to "Update Chart" -- which re-runs the query -- even if the underlying query does not change. This can slow down user's workflow and causing frustration for long execution times.
How are they solving it currently?
N/A - no workaround currently available.
What is the suggested solution?
Add a check for changes to the underlying query and automatically update the visual if no changes are made from the last query execution. Similar to what is done for cosmetic changes to the chart.
