Chart filters should default to the dashboard values when the filter is inherited

What is the problem or goal you're trying to solve or accomplish?

Dashboards and charts often don't seem to get a long well. Often times when I edit a chart from a dashboard that has filters, the preloaded filters in the chart won't inherit the filter values from the dashboard. E.g. if my dashboard had a filter for "date: current year". When editing a chart, that filter will appear but won't have the "current year" value, which ends up giving me poor initial results.

How are you solving it currently?

Manually setting the right filter value when I'm editing the chart. It's annoying to do this.

What is your recommended solution?

Automatically default the chart filter value to inherit from the dashboard.
