What is the problem or goal the end user is trying to solve or accomplish?
Teams with a “Primary Contributor” role need to edit/overwrite charts they didn’t create, at scale, without being admins and without per-object ownership maintenance. Dashboard edit access today doesn’t grant edit rights to the charts inside, so collaboration requires manual ownership changes on each chart.
How are they solving it currently?
Add contributors as owners on each chart (manual, error-prone).
Bulk-patch owners via API and re-run periodically to catch new charts (operational overhead).
“Save as” and replace charts on dashboards (creates duplicates, breaks lineage).
What is the recommended solution by the Customer?
Allow users with a designated role (e.g., “Primary Contributor”) to edit/overwrite any chart in a workspace or within specific dashboards, without needing to be explicit owners. Granting dashboard edit should be sufficient to edit charts contained in that dashboard.
