Separate number formatting for slice percentages in Pie Charts

What is the problem or goal you're trying to solve or accomplish?

When a Pie Chart shows labels with both value and percentage, and the total at the top, the customer wants to format each of these independently. In particular, they want to control the number of decimal places shown for each slice's percentage.

Today the Customize tab has a single Number format control. It applies to the slice values and the total, but not to the slice percentages, which always display with two decimals. If the customer sets a percentage format such as .3% in Number format, it is applied to the total and the slice values instead of to the slice percentages.

In the customer's words: "You can't format the values separately using the Customize section. If you set .3%, it applies the percentage to the total and doesn't let you modify the default digits for the percentage shown by the dimensions, which it doesn't make sense."

How are you solving it currently?

There is no workaround within the Pie Chart's Customize settings. The slice percentage precision can't be changed, and applying a percentage format through Number format changes the total and the values instead. To show percentages with the precision they want, the customer would have to calculate the percentage themselves, for example as a custom metric or in a virtual dataset, and display it as the value. That approach loses the built-in value-and-percentage labels.

What is your recommended solution?

Allow the parts of a Pie Chart to be formatted separately in the Customize tab. At minimum, add a dedicated format option for slice percentages, so the decimal places can be set independently of the format used for the slice values and the total.
