What is the problem or goal you're trying to solve or accomplish?
They need to know who changed the displayed title of a chart within a dashboard (including dashboard-level title overrides), when it happened, and ideally what the previous title was, so they can govern changes, debug inconsistencies, and maintain trusted dashboards.
How are you solving it currently?
They can see high-level audit activity like “dashboard: update” or “chart: update,” but it doesn’t clearly pinpoint which chart title was changed inside the dashboard layout nor show the before/after values.
Some teams export the dashboard definition (YAML/JSON) and diff it to detect title overrides, which is manual and not user-friendly.
What is your recommended solution?
Provide a UI-accessible change history for dashboard edits that includes field-level details for layout metadata, specifically:
Event type: “Dashboard chart title override updated”
Captures: dashboard id, chart id, old title → new title, actor, timestamp
Visible in: Preset Audit Logs and/or dashboard “Version history” view
Optional: ability to restore previous titles for a specific chart tile
