Allow different formatting options per metric in Interactive Pivot Table

What is the problem or goal the end user is trying to solve or accomplish?

The customer wants to apply different number formatting to each metric displayed in an Interactive Pivot Table. For example, one metric may need to be shown as a percentage, another as currency, and another with decimal places. Currently, all metrics in the table share the same formatting, which limits clarity and usability.

How are they solving it currently?

They cannot fully solve it. The only workaround is to apply a single formatting option across all metrics, which may lead to confusion (e.g., a percentage metric displayed with currency formatting, or currency displayed with too many decimals).

What is the recommended solution by the Customer?

Enable different formatting per metric either:

  • Within the chart customization panel for Interactive Pivot Table, OR

  • By defining formatting at the dataset level so that each metric carries its own display format automatically into the chart.
