Allow for multiple time grains within an interactive pivot table

What is the problem or goal the end user is trying to solve or accomplish?
Would like to provide a monthly view that can easily be drilled down to week and then day.
Pivot tables currently only support one time grain and I'd like to support multiple.

How are they solving it currently?

Can create a custom SQL dimension using date_trunc on my timestamp to get the different components, but the result of these is harder to use than the nice formatting Preset does for time-grains (ex May 2025 is much easier to work with than the output of date_trunc '2025-05-01 00:00:00').

What is the recommended solution by the Customer?
