Bulk Migration Tool from Table Chart to Interactive Table Chart

What is the problem or goal the end user is trying to solve or accomplish?

Users want to leverage the new Interactive Table Chart for its enhanced functionality and improved user experience. However, many customers already have hundreds of existing Table Charts built with the old Table Chart type. Rebuilding these manually is time-consuming and prone to errors.

How are they solving it currently?

Currently, users must manually recreate each Table Chart as an Interactive Table Chart, which can take several hours or even days when dealing with large dashboards or workspaces (some customers have 400+ Table Charts).

What is the recommended solution by the Customer?

Provide a bulk migration or conversion tool (or API endpoint/CLI command) to automatically convert existing Table Charts to Interactive Table Charts while preserving:

• Queries, filters, and metrics

• Custom column formatting

• Pagination and sorting settings (as applicable)

This could be implemented as:

1. A workspace-level bulk migration utility.

2. A per-chart “Convert to Interactive Table” option in the chart settings.

Such a tool would significantly reduce manual work and accelerate adoption of the new Interactive Table Chart.
