Visual Indicator for Dashboard-Level Chart Name Overrides

What is the problem or goal the end user is trying to solve or accomplish?

Users want to easily identify when a chart’s name has been overridden within a specific dashboard context. Currently, there's no visual cue in the Preset GUI or dashboard edit screen indicating that a chart is using a dashboard-specific name rather than its original name.

How are they solving it currently?

This information is only accessible by exporting the dashboard and reviewing the dashboard.yml file. In that file, a sliceNameOverride field indicates when a chart has been renamed within the dashboard (e.g., sliceNameOverride: barColorTest(NewNameFromDashboard)). This approach is not user-friendly and requires technical knowledge and extra steps.

What is the recommended solution by the Customer?

Introduce a visual indicator in the Preset GUI—either in the dashboard edit mode or chart properties view—that clearly shows when a chart’s name has been overridden locally. This could be a tooltip, badge, or label such as “Dashboard Override” with the original name optionally displayed on hover or in a side panel. This would improve transparency, reduce confusion, and allow users to manage chart naming more effectively across multiple dashboards.
