Add query audit log Merged

What is the problem or goal the end user is trying to solve or accomplish?

User would like to see an audit log of who is running queries on which databases, how long queries take and which are the longest running, etc. The lack of current functionality is limiting the SQL editor usability for sensitive data in Preset.

How are they solving it currently?

Currently there isn't a way to keep track of this information.

What is the recommended solution by the Customer?

Implement Query Audit Log.

    Hi everyone,

This is Sunny from the Preset Customer team. To help us better track the different requests that are all categorized under this feature requests, please redirect your vote to the following feature requests based on your use case:

    • User Auditing (https://preset.ideas.aha.io/ideas/PROD-I-3174) - Track user events across dashboard creation, viewing, and editing for security reasons or auditing.

    • Usage Metrics for Core BI (This feature currently exists under the Enterprise Plan) - Prove the value of your BI tool to executive stakeholders and see what your top used charts and dashboards are.

    • Query Runtime Logging (https://preset.ideas.aha.io/ideas/PROD-I-3399) - Know which queries / charts / dashboards are taking a long time to load to optimize your audience experience.

    • Embedded Analytics (https://preset.ideas.aha.io/ideas/PROD-I-3397) - Understand the value and engagement you are generating from your Embedded experience with metrics on users and dashboards.

For now, we will be closing this one as obsolete.

    Thank you,

    Sunny

I'd like to also be able to see which users are viewing which dashboards.

We have the ability to pass the user email to the db as part of the executed queries from Preset. Please reach out to our Customer Support team if you'd like to enable this for your organization.
